We are looking for an Early-Mid Career Policy Research Analyst to work a hybrid work schedule from our Arlington, VA office. Responsibilities:
As part of CISP, the Research Analyst will contribute to science, technology, and innovation policy research, analysis, strategic planning, and evaluations, and help deliver novel solutions for a diverse range of clients:


Specifically, the Research Analyst will:
  • Execute project tasks (e.g., conduct literature reviews, synthesize information, interviewing stakeholders, writing reports and other documents) across multiple simultaneous projects under the direction of project leaders or other senior staff while managing time and project resources independently as needed.
  • Support project leaders or other senior staff to envision, coordinate, and evaluate initiatives and policies related to science, technology, and innovation.
  • Help project leaders develop appropriate methods to solve complex science, technology, and innovation policy problems.
  • Collect, manage, and apply a variety of analytic methods to explore and assess diverse qualitative and quantitative data sets.
  • Communicate the results of analyses clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to team members and clients (as needed).
  • Produce pieces of well-written, high-quality reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate well in small teams.
  • Organize and manage project logistics.
  • Administrative duties (scheduling, notetaking)
  • Occasionally travel domestically and internationally (when conditions permit).
Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a STEM field, public policy, or other policy-oriented field in the social sciences with the following:
  • 1\xe2\x80\x935 years of work experience related science, technology, and innovation within one or more of the following domains: science and innovation policy, technology strategy, technology transfer and commercialization, program evaluation, and economic analysis.
  • Research experience involving both qualitative and quantitative methods, including policy review, stakeholder interviews, case studies, feasibility studies, and statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to: adapt to different roles based on project needs; work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Effective time management ability with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with team members.

The salary range is: $58,968-$88,263. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI\'s Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
