Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled positive, fun, energetic and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join the Seville Animal Hospital team. Our ideal candidate will be required to provide exceptional care to our patients, assist in the diagnosis and treatment of small animal health issues, and maintain a clean and safe environment for both patients and their co-workers. This role requires strong communication skills, a passion for animal welfare, and a commitment to learning, growing and contributing to the camaraderie of our team.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in the examination and treatment of small animals. Registered technicians are utilized to their fullest. This includes but not limited to, administering vaccinations and medications, performing laboratory tests, blood draws, placing intravenous catheters, calculating drug dosages and taking X-rays.
- Handle and restrain small animals safely and humanely, including preparing them for surgery and providing support during medical procedures.
- Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to veterinary terminology in all interactions with clients and colleagues.
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and equipment, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for small animals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of animal care plans, including client education.
- Monitor and report animal health and behavior to veterinarians, including animal physiology and any changes in appetite, weight, or physical condition.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician required with confident knowledge of veterinary terminology and small animal physiology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures and X-ray equipment is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and restrain animals safely and humanely.
- Commitment to ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
