This is a full-time on-site role for a Receiving Inspector located in Wichita, KS. The Receiving Inspector will be responsible for managing the receipt of incoming materials and products, verifying quantities and quality, and ensuring accurate documentation. Day-to-day tasks include received shipments, labeling and maintaining records, and communicating with suppliers to resolve discrepancies. The Receiving Inspector will work closely with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
Essential Functions:
1. Inspects purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements
2. Visually inspects for obvious defects or damage such as corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, and pits.
3. Inspects for proper identity and dimensions using such measuring devices as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
4. Verifies specifications using purchase orders, blueprints, drawing or inspection instructions, and checklists.
5. Performs Document Control and retention functions
6. Supports Final Inspection
7. Reviews and approved Supplier Surveys as needed.
8. Participates in Kaizen events
9. Makes pass/fail decisions on inspected goods
10. Maintains records of results
11. Maintains a high degree of cooperation with supervision and other employees.
Skills
Read and writes well enough to understand planning, reports, and to record required information into company systems.
2. Ability to use a PC to record required information and prepare required reports using Microsoft Office software and company systems. Demonstrates ability to train other employees on the use of the company systems.
3. Experience in inventory management, materials handling, and logistics
4. Ability to interpret specifications and drawings.
5. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
6. Ability to receive instructions and retain the required information.
7. Ability to receive constructive criticism.
8. Ability to communicate well. Must have advanced oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with employees and customers.
9. Knowledge and/or skill in Six Sigma and Lean principles are preferred.
10. Basic comprehension and reasoning abilities.
11. Ability to operate effectively in a time-sensitive environment and to meet deadlines.
12. Must be able to work well with other people in a team environment. Regularly works effectively, and relates well, with others including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside of the company.

14. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

17. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and some college is preferred.
2. Previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred, not required.
3. Experienced using a PC and related company systems.
