Job Description


Performs technical and analytical work on the full range of assignments involved in the management, control and disposition of City and County-owned real property; conducts studies and prepares reports with appropriate recommendations; and performs other related duties as required.

Current Vacancy:
There is one vacancy with the Department of Land Management, Asset Management Division located in Downtown Honolulu. Under the general supervision of the Property Management Officer, performs technical and analytical work relating to the oversight of management companies and contracts involving City-owned residential and commercial properties (e.g. tenant-based properties, single residency occupancy units, elderly housing, market-rate rental units, etc.). Technical and analytical work may focus on financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and/or construction and repair of properties and garage facilities. Applies applicable safety practices, rules, and procedures and performs all duties in a safe and acceptable manner.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in public or business administration, the social sciences, or a related field. Work experience may be substituted for the bachelor\'s degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from the attainment of a bachelor\'s degree.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Three (3) years of general administrative and analytical work experience, one (1) of which shall have involved property management, the acquisition and/or disposition of real property or other technical phases of real estate transactions, or related experience.

Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of real estate terminology; sources of information pertinent to real estate matters; the City Charter and laws, ordinances and rules governing the administration, sale and disposition of real property; laws, rules, legal documents and procedures relating to real estate transactions; research principles and techniques; and the ability to interpret, evaluate and explain laws, ordinances and regulations; analyze problems and make sound decisions and recommendations; prepare clear and concise reports; maintain effective working relationships with operating personnel and the general public.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:

Valid appropriate driver\'s license (automobile/Type 3), as required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE EVALUATION:
