Under the direction of the Real Estate Closing Supervisor, the Real Estate Loan Closer is responsible for performing a wide variety of member loan duties in the Real Estate Department.

FUNCTIONS

Receives and reviews applications submitted for final document preparation.
Ensures all document and funding conditions have been satisfied prior to closing.
Prepares and issues closing disclosures.
Verifies that all timing and delivery methods and dates have been satisfied.
Verifies that all HMDA data if applicable has been completed.
Prepares final closing documents.
Reviews signed closing documents to ensure they are complete and notary seal is legible.
Funds and distributes loan proceeds at time of closing.
Communicates with escrow and title officers to ensure timely closings.
Prepares funding and wire worksheets.
Requires reconciling additions and disbursements of escrow accounts.
Reviews and reconciles general ledgers.
Prepares monthly Real Estate Department closing reports.
Knowledgeable of and abides by real estate regulations.
Serves as backup to the Real Estate Servicer.
Computes interest and payments.
Responds to members' inquiries and requests; assists in completing forms and documents.
Ensures loan documentation is complete and accurate, processes loans, documents loan file.
Prepares and maintains a variety of real estate loan records, files and documents.
Attends MLS meetings on occasion and affiliate meetings.
Performs duties in compliance with Credit Union policy and appropriate regulatory statutes.
Maintains current job knowledge of Credit Union policies, procedures, and services. Uses cross-selling techniques to promote other Credit Union services.
Regularly attends and participates in in-house training.
Performs duties as assigned by management and may be assigned to work at any location.#
QUALIFICATIONS
# The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Education and Experience
College degree in Business or related field or equivalent education and experience.
Three or more years increasingly responsible experience in real estate loan processing in real estate or financial institution.# Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Ability to obtain Notary Public commission.
Obtain NMLS registration.#
# Knowledge
Credit Union products, services, programs, and promotions.
Credit Union real estate policies, procedures, and practices.
Knowledge of various computer systems and software necessary to effectively perform job.
# Other Skills and Abilities
Performs duties accurately and efficiently, even with frequent interruptions.
Operates a variety of office equipment and machines.
Travels, attends, and participates in meetings, seminars, and conferences held before and after normal business hours that may require unaccompanied long-distance travel and overnight lodging.
Ability to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends.
