The Airframes, Structures & Radars, and Materials (ASM) leads in the mechanical hardware design, development, and production of weapons systems. ASM uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, and technology, with capabilities encompassing a broad range of technical disciplines, including product engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials engineering, analysis and test, rapid hardware development/builds and configuration and data management documentation.

ASM is comprised of individuals with technical expertise in hardware design, integration, and production support. The ASM directorate uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon Core principles.

Rapid Hardware Solutions department is a quick turn organization that performs design and build of prototype hardware, test equipment, trainers and hydraulics assemblies within the Airframes, Radar structures and Advanced Materials (ASM) team.

This role is for a Rapid Hardware Solutions Proposal Lead to execute proposals with estimating and bidding of work to be performed within RHS and leadership efforts across programs being executed.

This position is in Tewksbury, MA. (Hybrid position)

The primary focus of this role is responsibility for documenting and delivering on-time proposals based on sound reasoning backed by established historical metrics. This includes generating the proposal, writing the Basis of Estimates (BOEs), scheduling functional management reviews, securing management approval, and communicating results back to the internal customer.

Other responsibilities of this role may include supporting the lab with tasking associated with build efforts: assisting with project execution, following up with buyers, expediting material, answering questions on shop floor, interact with engineering, disposition held up material, support to creation of routers and process plans, coordinate walk in work.

Responsibilities to anticipate:

Estimation of engineering and manufacturing labor required to perform tasks.

Review conceptual data and requirements and establish a basis for proposal scope.

Routinely present proposals to leadership

Works closely with the section leaders in selecting applicable metrics from which to leverage bids.

Identify bid assumptions, risks, and opportunities.

Evaluate proposed design, procurement and build schedules to establish attainability.

Participate in organizational proposal reviews.

Generate formal Basis of Estimates (BOE\xe2\x80\x99s) for auditable bids.

Support Directorate tracking of ongoing proposals and follow up on contract award.

Update database of department historical metrics upon program completion

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Management

5 years professional relevant experience

Experience in developing production strategies, cost proposals, and/or schedules.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Demonstrated experience across the hardware lifecycle (R&D, design, production, fielding, sustainment, technical refresh, obsolescence redesign.)

Capable of prioritizing requirements, tasks, and issues \xe2\x80\x93 leading to rapid and efficient proposal execution

Ability to synthesize and distill technical data and present material in a timely manner to leadership and team.

Effective presence and influential leadership capability, with the ability to interact with senior levels of leadership effectively - including customer, Raytheon, and suppliers.

Strong communication skills with peers and leadership
