Your Responsibilities



As a Quality Engineer for John Deere Augusta Commercial Products located in Grovetown, GA, you will:

  • Participate in start- up meetings and production meetings
  • Identify opportunities and implement continuous improvement projects in support of departmental quality goals
  • Communicate with the Natural Work Group and leadership to understand problems, propose and execute solutions, and provide updates
  • Manage production quality control plans (inspection checklists, inspector work content and expectations, manufacturing process control plan steps in MES system)
  • Leverage and implement technology to improve our access to and utilization of data to drive business improvement
  • Design and implement manufacturing process monitoring and risk mitigation solutions
  • Support and lead cross- functional teams
  • Train new Operators to ensure that they are successful in their manufacturing method to achieve our Safety, Quality, Delivery and Efficiency goals
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of warranty and customer field issues
  • Foster a positive work environment through employee engagement activities, communications and a strong say: do ratio

What Skills You Need



  • Experience in one of the following areas: Industrial Engineering, Design, Manufacturing or Quality
  • Experience using and applying quality tools
  • Original thinking, with an ability to identify problems and generate creative solutions
  • Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, eliminating problems at their root
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work effectively, adapting for changing conditions
  • Effective interpersonal skills for navigating challenging situations and communicating collaborating effectively
  • Ability to create and thrive in an inclusive and collaborative team environment
  • Experience supporting a fast- paced shop floor manufacturing environment
  • Travel up to 25% domestically and/or internationally, based on business needs


What Makes You Stand Out



  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Experience using and applying tools including Failure Modes Effect Analysis, Root Cause Analysis and/or Non-Conformance Corrective Action systems
  • Experience initiating and managing changes to drive improvements
  • Experience with quality process/systems improvement projects
  • Experience learning and applying technology, systems, data mining and analysis tools to drive business improvements
  • MPP/JDAAT knowledge and experience



Education



Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, or similar discipline
