The Quality Engineer role will apply their knowledge and understanding of quality management systems, six sigma and lean manufacturing concepts, practices, and principles to develop solutions to problems and opportunity for improvement. The Quality Engineer actively contributes to the continual improvement initiatives of this company\'s Quality Management System (QMS).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, record, and implement methods and procedures for process control, process improvements, test and inspect to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed.
  • Suggest improved testing equipment.
  • Test and analyze product to maintain quality levels and minimize defects/failure rates.
  • Analyze in-process data, reports, and defective products to identify trends, and then recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensure that effective root cause is identified and implement corrective actions.
  • Contribute to supplier quality improvement programs.
  • Complete root cause and corrective action implementation for all initiated nonconforming reports.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing lines when nonconforming material is identified.
  • Lead process improvement teams.
  • Assist Ceramic Engineer with evaluation of new and/or modified raw material selection and approval.
  • Receive, review, and approve incoming materials.
  • Compile and create Certificates of Compliance & Certificates of Analysis.
Requirements:
  • CQE with lean six sigma training.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate team projects.
  • Strong root cause and corrective action methodologies.
  • Manufacturing Operation and QA experience.
  • Background in DMAIC methodology.
  • ASQ Quality Certification.
  • Experience with Minitab statistical software and managing data in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
Preferred:
  • Green or Black Belt certificate.
  • Background in DMAIC methodology.
  • Ceramic experience a plus.
