Job Description


Innophos is searching for a Quality Assurance Coordinator at our North Salt Lake, UT location to perform necessary job functions related to quality activities, including reviews, approvals, inspections, and documentation. Also includes data analysis to detect trends, enforcing quality procedures and policies, and assisting with procedure development and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor cGMP, Food Safety, Good Documentation Practices
  • Assist with the development of quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Enforce compliance with cGMP, GDP, and handwashing policies throughout the facility
  • Assist in investigations to resolve product and process issues related to quality and compliance
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s policies and applicable laws
  • Quality assurance functions, including training and performing in-house audits
  • Assist with investigations pertaining to process and products upon receipt of complaints from customers in a timely manner
  • Document, report, and discuss observations from in-house audit exercises
  • Assist in the enforcement of Quality Objectives of the organization, such as Change Control, Investigations, and OOS
  • Monitor compliance levels to cGMP and Food safety systems at all levels by ensuring that the process, systems, and procedures are in place
  • Assist in plant-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) creation and implementation
  • Batch record review and release of final product as directed
  • Assist with Issuing of deviations from standard procedures
  • Proactively attempts to prevent all accidents and eliminate all unsafe conditions
  • React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
  • Assist with Kosher and Halal submissions work with external agencies to keep documents up to date
  • Assist with the Glass and Brittle Plastic program

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred. Will evaluate experience and expertise.
  • Preferred areas of study: Science, Food Manufacturing, Agriculture, or Quality Control/QA
  • 1-2 years of experience in a cGMP-certified manufacturing, food processing
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Work unsupervised, be self-motivated, and be a quick learner
  • Understanding of cGMP, Food Safety
  • Attention to detail with time management capabilities
  • Ability to follow guidelines and instructions
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret simple and complex information in day to day operations
  • Experience with Microsoft products such as Word and Excel
  • Basic mathematics skills up to and including percent yield, error, statistics
  • Science background preferred
  • Spanish speaking/bilingual a plus
  • PCQI, HACCP, and other food safety certifications a plus
Environmental and/or Physical Requirements
  • Requires plant field visits that may require the use of protective clothing & personal devices: Safety shoes, hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, mask, goggles, insulated gloves, safety vest, harness, hair net, slicker suit, self-contained breathing apparatus
  • Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs.), squatting, climbing, standing, bending, walking, temperature changes (range from 70 to ambient) , and office work
  • Rarely operates mobile equipment, operates heavy equipment
