PURCHASING SPECIALIST

Quantum Innovations is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support procurement of materials, components, and supplies critical to our operations. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams and key suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective purchasing decisions that support business objectives.
This position is well suited for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving, managing multiple priorities, and contributing to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Position Summary
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials and products required for operations, evaluating pricing and availability, maintaining accurate purchasing records, and supporting supplier relationships. Occasional local driving may be required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Establish and maintain professional, ethical relationships with key suppliers
Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with business needs
Analyze pricing, quality, availability, and delivery timelines to support sourcing decisions
Create and manage purchase orders within the ERP system
Expedite orders with suppliers to meet production and customer requirements
Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records
Perform data entry and reporting related to purchasing activities
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience
Experience with accounting and inventory systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
ERP experience required (NetSuite strongly preferred)
Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) preferred
Ophthalmic or manufacturing industry experience a plus
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, supply chain management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Analytical and quantitative skills for evaluating pricing, quantities, and vendor terms
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team
