  • Senior Manager, Project Program Management
  • This position will oversee and manage complex projects in support of Medicaid Health Plan process, operations, and strategy and resides within the Aetna Better Health of Illinois Medicaid Business Performance department.
  • This individual will manage multiple projects and ensure day-to-day project activities are on track / on time and will work cross-functionally to keep leadership and impacted areas / teams apprised of progress and risks.
  • This role requires effective partnering within the health plan as well as other business areas (clinical, quality, operations, compliance, Medicaid segment).
Duties:

  • This individual will manage multiple projects and ensure day-to-day project activities are on track / on time and will work cross-functionally to keep leadership and impacted areas / teams apprised of progress and risks.
  • This role requires effective partnering within the health plan as well as other business areas (clinical, quality, operations, compliance, Medicaid segment).
Experience: Required Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years professional work experience with at least 5 years\' experience working in healthcare industry or related Medicaid roles (e.g., operations, strategy, clinical, quality, network, vendor contracting).
  • Experience in working across organizations and functional areas to accomplish goals.
  • Superior communication and facilitation skills working with different levels of management.
  • Successful project management experience in health operations or similar disciplines with increasingly more complex projects across a highly-matrixed organization.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite applications with Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Project/program expertise in stakeholder facilitation, communications and relationship management.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid Products.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8 to 12 years\' experience preferred in Medicaid health plan operations and performance oversight.
  • Project management fundamental skills: planning, controlling, leading, risk/issue management, budget management.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data (medical claims data, authorizations, utilization management, case management, etc.) a plus.
  • Oral and written presentations to internal/external customers, constituents and business partners, strong business acumen and can perform reasonability checks.
  • Act as an advocate for change may require influencing others to see the value in project, including managing interpersonal sensitivities and articulating the strategic view to ensure project alignment.
  • Ability to contribute critical judgement beyond the role; offer a point of view.
  • Great attention to detail and superior problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to foster working relationships with and influence diverse leaders, colleagues and partners
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and plan for prioritizing workload within tight deadlines.
  • A prime candidate will have superior project management skills, strong attention to detail, work cooperatively with clinical operations, strategy, product, and financial leaders and must be prepared for a fast-paced environment & operating in white-space.
  • The candidate will be responsible for facilitating complex business initiatives with various stakeholders including technical and business leadership teams.
  • As an enthusiastic, self-led professional, the candidate leverages their passion for understanding details and showing how the pieces connect and can articulate a cohesive story up, down and across the organization.
  • Provide coaching, direction, feedback, and support of other matrixed team members.
  • Ability to work Central time zones.
  • Certification: PMP - preferred
