This position is in Vehicle Services / NMVTIS Unit, in Headquarters, Blythewood, SC.

Responsibilities of the County Program Coordinator

  • Manages all aspects of work related to reviewing transactions performed on behalf of the DMV by third parties, including counties and dealerships. Ensures necessary reports are generated and maintained. Manages day to day operations and activities to include but not limited to size/weight violations, toll violations, and 2290 data input.
  • Proactively communicates notable improvements, issues, and problems to the manager. Seeks improvements to existing service delivery through communication and idea generation. Solicits suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Communicates with customers via phone, e-mail, mail and in person and handles all customer complaints. Assists County and insurance-related customers with program issues. Attends County stakeholder meetings as required. Works with County stakeholders to resolve program and process issues. Collaborate with counties on changes and the implementation of fee changes.
  • Answers technical and complex questions for DMV personnel and handles all vehicle services constituent issues. Interprets DMV laws and procedures. Assists in the development and revision of policies and business processes that pertain to vehicle services. Ensures that employees are informed of and understand any policy changes.
  • Works with Vehicle Services and Financial Responsibility Business Analysts to define requirements for Phoenix system changes affecting area of responsibility. Assists in testing system changes to the Phoenix system.
  • Communicates issues requiring legal opinions to legal department. Represent the DMV in court to present and certify files and records.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma and relevant program experience

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Docs Open software, and Phoenix application.

Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations related to Vehicle Titles and Registration and Financial Responsibility. Knowledge of governmental fiscal and personnel procedures, practices, and policies. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment. Ability to coordinate diverse administrative/management functions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working. Ability to plan, organize and supervise the work of subordinate personnel. Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Employee will be expected to exercise judgment and make decisions based on department policies and procedures.
  • May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled work week. Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs. May require limited travel. Works in climate-controlled environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Agency Preferred

A bachelor\'s degree or three (3) years of relevant experience in public administration or administrative services or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Docs Open software and Phoenix application.
