The position will assist in creating the organization\'s foundational strategy and document first generation workplan to support MVP\'s ability to serve an increasingly diverse customer base in a far more meaningful way. This will improve the Plan\'s market position and also ensure we play a role in supporting "whole-person" health and wellness and move closer to being a deeply rooted community-oriented wellness. The position will strive to advance equity in health care innovation by embedding equity into the MVP\'s existing innovation practice and addressing the customers\' unmet needs and identifying new opportunities informed by engagement with marginalized and minoritized innovators, entrepreneurs, and members/consumers. Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Program Strategy and Development
  • Design and implement a strategy to ensure equitable opportunities and conditions in innovation for marginalized and minoritized people and communities; identify opportunities to mitigate bias within health care innovation (the people given opportunities to innovate, the products developed and who has access to them, the harm this creates and the inequities that are exacerbated) and promote best in class equitable DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) practices related to community service engagement
  • Launch a model for assessing and continuously monitoring the needs of marginalized and minoritized innovators, entrepreneurs, and members/consumers
  • Identify and execute a roadmap of programmatic efforts in response to stakeholder needs and market gaps to advance equity in health care innovation; conduct market scans, identify and engage leads, define opportunities for collaboration with outside organizations to develop, test, and launch concepts for new programs and resources
  • Partner with SDOH Strategy Team, collaborating cross-functionally to move opportunities from scoping through contracting to launch
  • Build the external communication and market influence plan, identifying channels and mechanisms for advancing equity and innovation objectives within key stakeholder groups, including the broader health care start-up, investment, and technology community (1115 waiver)
  • Serve as a strategic lead for external equity and innovation partnerships, ensuring that collaborations meet agreed objectives, are continuously evaluated for improvement, and/or renewed, or expanded as appropriate
  • Serve as the primary liaison between MVP and external stakeholders, and identify opportunities for collaboration
  • Represent MVP at relevant health care innovation conferences, events, and summits
Enterprise Health Equity Collaborative Efforts and Program Mgt
  • Serve as the facilitator for the Equity & Innovation team, providing guidance and support for the design and implementation of the social drivers of health (SDOH) strategy
  • Ensure that equity is embedded into cross-enterprise MVP innovation initiatives; participate in cross-enterprise opportunity analyses, the assessment and development of new initiatives, market engagement strategies, and communication campaigns related to the advancement of Health Equity with a focus on social determinants of health (SDOH) and "Community Clinical Programming" to improve quality of care, engagement, quality scores and to meet customers where they are
  • Lead the identification, development, and coordination of SDOH compliance requirements across multiple areas of the business and product lines and ensure Corp alignment
  • Develop strong relationships with other colleagues committed to health equity across the enterprise, amplifying and supporting opportunities to embed equity within MVP\'s strategy and planning
  • Support Talent and leaders on sourcing, hiring, and retaining diverse candidates by connecting with professional organizations and leveraging social media and community connections.
  • Develop training opportunities to educate employees and managers on how to recognize, accommodate and appreciate individual differences and how these can be bridged back to assist in meeting the business plan.
