Position is responsible for collaboration with key stakeholders to identify and collect accurate, reliable and relevant health equity data. Supports tactical deployment to advance health equity across Optum Health. Works with health care economics, finance and other business teams to identify efforts to promote health equity across the enterprise, leveraging research and reporting efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Convenes the health equity advisory team to support the dissemination of strategic approaches, identification of objectives/metrics and drive alignment of key decision makers across Optum Health
• Manages the PEC champion meetings and PEC priority workstreams to deliver on strategic objectives and success outcomes, maintaining critical OPA health equity stakeholder engagement
• Reports on the ongoing status and data/analytical findings of health equity efforts to key stakeholders within Optum Health, Optum and UHG enterprises-in an effort to support key decision making and resource allocation
• Collaborates with care delivery and care solutions within Optum Health to promote health equity in the local markets and business units
• Works with business stakeholders to support data collection, organization, analysis and requirements gathering to inform common language and definition around health equity
• Supports healthcare economics, finance and other business teams (e.g., UnitedHealth Care) to organize data for tactical deployment of initiatives supportive in eliminating health disparities and development of business cases to promote advancing health equity
• Informs the development, dissemination and tracking of health equity related trainings
• Maintains an ongoing understanding of health equity-related efforts to support research and innovation
• Supports Director of Health Equity in OPA and OH-related priorities (e.g., Optum Partnership Forum, internal website, Design Shop)

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in project and program management, business case management, and change management
• 2+ years of experience developing and implementing change in a dynamic, multi-matrixed organization
• Experience in the healthcare industry; at least 2+ years of experience with medical groups or managed care organizations
• Experience and knowledge of health equity
• Relevant work experience in strategy, operations, consulting, product, project or general management in a health care related field, driving effective results
• Solid writing experience, both in content and writing organization abilities
• Moderate level understanding of the request for proposal (RFP) process
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master\'s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Health
• 3+ years of designing and embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion into processes, programs and/or projects, making the healthcare experience accessible to all people
• Experience leading teams directly or indirectly through influence
• Experience in RFP writing or product, process or program development
• Solid history of quickly gaining credibility, partnering with business leaders, and exhibiting executive presence, personal leadership and panache for a consumer-centric focus
• Proven high degree of flexibility and organizational change management, responding to a dynamic, matrixed environment with a high degree of growth and ambiguity
• Proven solid strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to align people related strategies and recommendations with business objectives
• Proven ability to analyze health equity trends and develop competencies/requirements to address them
• Proven ability to articulate business strategies and formulate concise solutions to complex problems
