Production Engineer

  • The Role of the Production Engineer is to develop and maintain the routings use to create work order documents. The Production engineer manages the work order documentation and releases them to manufacturer.
  • This role is also responsible for analyzing historical data and collaborating with design/manufacturing engineers to improve the work orders and ERP system labor estimates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support NCRs
o Execute or reassign tasks as assigned by the ME after NCR disposition
o Create RWOs to satisfy dispositions on NCRs
  • Execute ECOs
o Review all ECOs after ENG
o Coordinate other departments, through tasks, to complete ECOs
  • Second check Manufacturing sketches and Burn sketches when needed
  • Shop Support (Machining, Electrical, Purchasing, Spares as Secondary)
  • Support Project Lessons learned and coordinate integration of changes into routers
  • Coordinate RFM process for Main Project and Spares IAW Master Schedule Timing
o Before a job is released review release structure
o Check for outstand ECOs
o Scrub project after Engineering group has released
o Verify quantities of make items in BOMs vs total quantities of work orders.
o Verify all make items that have (w) at beginning of description, are work orders
o Verify Work Orders are linked properly.
o Link Vendor Demands to Vendor Operations
o Verify work centers between SAW/BURN/MACH, etc.
o Verify there are buyer codes on P-Parts
o Make sure CFM parts are accounted for with correct qty.
o Run Labor Analysis report. Verify accurate queue times for operations.
o Ensure WOs and APLs are printed IAW master schedule
  • Manage Master Routers for repeat product line
Qualifications
  • US Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology or similar
  • Expertise in Excel
  • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts (welding, fitting, machining, paint, and assembly)
