Full-time position available with the General Services Department, Purchasing Division located at 414 East 12th Street Salary Range: $20.48-$30.71/hour Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Application Deadline Date: May 08, 2023
Responsibilities
Assists in planning, coordinating and overseeing the central procurement activities of the City, assists in consolidating the needs of the various departments by standardizing supplies, materials and equipment.
Assists with the development and installation of improved clerical practices in stores methods and procedures.
Confers with vendors and their representatives concerning their products and discussing materials, equipment, supplies, services, prices, trade and cash discounts.
Assists in the preparation of proposals and specifications and verifies commodities and services against purchases orders and contracts awarded to vendors.
Prepares and presents recommendations on purchases.
Answers special correspondence on procurement matters and handles special assignments and problems arising within the division.
May act as a lead worker.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Associate\'s degree and 2 years progressively responsible procurement experience in procurement activities; OR high school graduation and 4 years of experience in procurement activities.

All positions require successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check. Non-residents, if appointed, must establish residency within the city limits of Kansas City, MO within nine months.
