Pip/med Pay Claims Representative

Job Description


Responsible for investigating, confirming, paying/ denying, and resolving claims involving 1st Party Medical Payment\'s coverage, or PIP (Personal Injury Protection). This involves interacting with customers, employers, medical providers, and attorneys.

  • Review and process reimbursement requests under the applicable 1st Party Medical coverage based on fee schedules, policy terms, co-pays, and deductibles. Analyze file documentation, medical bills, medical records, employment and wage information, and other documentation provided.
  • Responds promptly to written or verbal inquiries from injured parties, medical providers, and attorneys. Ensure PIP payment logs, claim information, policy information, and payment information requested are provided within statutory timelines.
  • Assists customers throughout the 1st Party Medical Claims process by explaining the applicable benefits, eligibility, required forms, and procedures; providing claim status updates and information through both verbal and written communications.
  • Comply with local statutes on appropriate PIP/Med Pay handling.
  • Experience handling 1st Party Auto Medical Claims in Florida, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Maryland, and Utah.
  • 1+ years handling Med Pay/PIP claims
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, and ICD 10
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Word and Outlook.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain adjuster licenses as required.
  • Adjuster licenses must be obtained within 90 days of the start date if you do not possess one already.
  • Onsite presence is required every day.
