The Payroll Tax Lead position is a key team member of the corporate payroll team and is responsible for all payroll tax activities including, compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and filings. The role will work closely with the corporate payroll and HR teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll tax processing. This role is significant to ensure all associates, taxes and will respond to agency notices and employee inquiries regarding W2s and how to update tax elections. As part of the payroll team, this role will assist in other duties and special assignments as assigned and be a back-up for payroll processing. Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll tax-related transactions
  • Reviews new-hires, transfers, and addresses changes to ensure accurate tax setup in employee payroll profile
  • Partner with outsourced payroll tax vendor (ADP) to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Create and facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Monitors and reconciles cash activity to Payroll and ADP Tax Services reports
  • Reconciles payroll reports to 940s and 941s and W-2s
  • Monthly and Quarterly review and approval of tax filings as appropriate
  • Prepares returns and payments for agencies not prepared by 3rd party vendor
  • Applies for federal, state, and local identification numbers for acquisitions as applicable
  • Assists as needed with US border crosser and expat taxes
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations (Periodic, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual)
  • Partner with Mobility Team on taxation-related items including Worldwide Income Reporting Requirements, Border Crossing situations, and Ex-patriot situations
  • Resolve complicated employee tax questions
  • Support all General Ledger related activities between the US Payroll and Finance department
  • Process all year-end related activities including W2s, and all Federal, State, and Local Filings
  • Prepare and file W2-Cs as needed
  • Provide support for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
  • Assist with general payroll processing as needed including back-up functions
Qualifications:

Required:
  • BA + minimum 7 years related experience.
  • Direct Tax experience within an analytical role.
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel, including ability to model expected results.
  • Knowledge of global mobility programs and U.S., state and international taxation.
Highly Preferred:
  • Bachelor\'s degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience required or 7 years related experience
  • Minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
  • ADP Smart Compliance experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Higher-level experience with Microsoft Excel skills \xe2\x80\x93 particularly v-lookups and pivot tables
  • An approved ability to multitask and work proactively in an evolving environment
  • Oracle Fusion experience preferred
  • Multi-Country tax experience
  • Knowledge of ADP tax services
