In this role, you will work with clients to process their payroll information while ensuring accuracy and a high level of service.

Payroll Manager

Lead a team of twelve to fifteen payroll & billing specialists with support from two dedicated assistant managers. Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll and billing for client base. Ensures payroll is in compliance with government regulations. Help develop career paths for motivated individuals while continuing to boost & maintain positive overall team morale. Support a team oriented environment of growth, inclusiveness and diversity. Uphold stellar customer service and timely responsiveness and maintain the highest level of accuracy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll/billing processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of: Payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions,

- Accurate processing of billing transactions including sales tax, ACA fees and other additional fees.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.

- Keeps well-informed of the payroll processing system and changes in wage and tax laws.

- Research and analyze regulatory updates and other information impacting the payroll system and coordinates the implementation of required changes to Lawson/Infor.

- Attends the appropriate education to ensure knowledge base is kept up to date.

- Monitors and reacts to changes in both IRS and State requirements regarding payroll.

- Conducts staff training for changes in these requirement, and changes in the payroll processing software.

- Communicates with other departments and management of significant issues that require coordination between departments and/or clients.

- Understand concepts of wage garnishments, child support payments, pre-tax deductions, taxable fringe benefits and reimbursement to accurately process these transactions.

- Updates Payroll Policies and Procedures as needed when the environment or regulatory changes mandate.

- Prioritize daily departmental workload

- Consistently review work in the department for process improvement. ---Identifies and recommends updates to payroll/billing processing software,

systems and procedures that will enhance service and/or eliminate errors.

-Evaluate the support for all types of payroll changes and ensures that proposed changes are appropriately authorized, tested and entered.

- Build trust, respect and partnership with clients and their internal staff by

providing excellent customer service and exceeding expectations.

- Act as a technical resource to clients to address and resolve inquiries and problems.

-Provide accurate, meaningful, and timely analysis of payroll information.

- Handles all types of problems that might occur in conjunction with paychecks. - Maintain a high rate of client retention through monitoring and establishing procedures to assure quality service.

-Determine appropriate actions to be taken for effective problem resolution

- Meet company customer service standards and established response times

- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with clients, agencies and coworkers to promote a quality service image

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities Required:

- Data entry experience - medium to high proficiency

- Word and Excel experience \xe2\x80\x93 high level of proficiency

- Possesses the ability to handle highly confidential information and keep secure

- Effective client communications with appropriate and timely follow-up

- Demonstrate ability to prioritize conflicting demands to accommodate rapidly changing priorities

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to ensure day-to-day

duties are accomplished on time, and also, that special projects are completed within the timeframes established.

- Demonstrates innovative thinking and sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills; ability to guide others in problem solving.

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

- Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers,

management or staff

- Ability to complete an assigned task in prescribed items with deliverables within established deadlines, asking for help when needed

- Ability to listen carefully to others and ask questions to gain or clarify understanding

- Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form and relate

effectively with others.

- Ability to participate as part of a team by understanding and accepting the

various work styles of others and their roles on the team

Training/ Education/ Experience Qualifications:

- Associates Degree or equivalent

- Must have a minimum of 5 years+ working payroll experience

- Prior Lawson/Infor System Experience

- American Payroll Association membership desired CPP Certification or CPA with Payroll experience

Supervisory

-This position has supervisory responsibilities

Physical Requirements:

- Carrying boxes or overnight packages of up to 25 lbs. may be necessary
