POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resource Manager leads the talent acquisition/recruiting process, understands and helps to maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, develops and maintains positive working relationships with internal directors and team members as well as external community, business and school contacts, and partners with the CHRO and others regarding employee relations issues, workforce culture, and engagement, all while providing a high level of customer service, confidentiality as necessary, and communication. Role involves various administrative responsibilities related to Human Resources. Great opportunity to work for a leading non-profit organization! ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with the CHRO and hiring directors to understand staffing needs and develops proactive, innovative sourcing/talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top talent. Post and communicate job opportunities on jobs boards and social media. Source, screen and partner with hiring directors in the selection of final candidates. May assist with the negotiation of offers.
  • Develops and executes proactive, innovative, cost-effective recruitment/sourcing strategy to develop a diverse pool of qualified applicants for vacancies.
  • Partners with CHRO related to preparation, implementation, and training of a new Applicant Tracking System (ATS) via Paycom, including but not limited to providing job description/posting content and other required data.
  • Provides reporting on current recruitment status by position to CHRO, other executive leadership, and hiring directors on a regular basis. Leads bi-weekly Recruiting/Staffing Meeting.
  • Operates with a sense of urgency and provides guidance on recruiting or other HR-related issues.
  • Works with CHRO, Payroll Manager, directors and team members to ensure that team members are onboarded and exited/offboarded timely and efficiently. Includes onboarding checklists, onboarding packets, and exiting/offboarding checklists.
  • Advises team members on questions regarding HR onboarding and recruitment policies, processes, and practices.
  • Partner with CHRO and designated others to update and assist in providing New Employee Orientation (NEO) sessions on a quarterly basis.
  • Travel locally within the MetroWest Massachusetts area on occasion to meet with hiring directors, external recruiting contacts, attend job/career events, etc. Some meetings may be conducted virtually.
  • Advises CHRO and necessary management on issues regarding employee relations, including providing feedback. Supports a positive working environment. Coaches and supports employees.
  • Partner with CHRO and directors regarding development and implementation of strategies related to employee learning and development, recruitment and retention, and organizational culture.
  • Handle HR administrative responsibilities such as answering communications from employees, employee files and compliance, and involvement with employee appreciation and recognition programs.
  • Occasional ability to work evenings or weekends for employment events/fairs and other YMCA events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • High school diploma or GED. Human Resources certificate, or undergraduate degree in Human Resources or Business preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years\xe2\x80\x99 work experience in Human Resources including Talent Acquisition/Recruitment.
  • Work requires ability to produce written communications including correspondence, employment postings, processes, and policies.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations, and adept at building Excel tables and formulas.
  • Experienced in Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experienced with job boards and posting job opportunities on social media (indeed, LinkedIn, Facebook, idealist.org, hireculture, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources policy and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Employment Law practices.
  • Must be highly skilled in generating reports, organization, scheduling and/or coordinating events, interpersonal (written and verbal) communication.
  • Must be flexible, have excellent time management work habits, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and be able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to travel within the local area.
  • Have a strong work ethic and be able to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with employees at different levels of the organization.
  • Be able to build and maintain community, business and college relationships.
  • Experienced with decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Experienced with being detail-oriented.
  • High degree of professionalism and excellent customer service aptitude.
  • Experience working with a diverse population.
