The Payroll Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll within the organization. This position involves managing payroll data entry, verifying timesheets, and maintaining payroll records in compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The Payroll Assistant collaborates closely with HR and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and support payroll audits. By maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail, the role helps safeguard employee information and contributes to overall employee satisfaction. Ultimately, the Payroll Assistant ensures that all employees are compensated correctly and on schedule, supporting the smooth financial operations of the company.

Minimum Qualifications:



High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. Basic understanding of payroll processes and relevant labor laws. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software applications. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:



Experience working with payroll systems such as QUICKBOOKS, ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms. Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance related to payroll. Previous experience in a payroll or accounting assistant role. Certification in payroll administration (e.g., CPP) is a plus. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities:



Process and prepare payroll data accurately and on time for all employees. Verify and reconcile timesheets, attendance records, and leave balances. Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and resolve discrepancies promptly. Assist with payroll audits and prepare reports as needed for management and regulatory bodies.

The Payroll Assistant uses strong organizational skills daily to manage multiple payroll tasks efficiently and accurately. Attention to detail is critical when entering data and verifying timesheets to prevent errors that could affect employee compensation.
