Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for providing direct data and/or clinical research in support of clinical trials, studies and general research under direct supervision. Works with School of Medicine and Medical Center staff and departments, including Directors, Managers, Clinical Information Systems, Research Nursing and Regulatory Services. May also interface with patients and their families.

Job Responsibilities:

• Enrollment duties \xe2\x80\x93 RDA will track patients using the medical record system and approach eligible subjects. They will screen for eligibility and consent parents.
• Assessment duties \xe2\x80\x93 RDA will follow enrolled study subjects and perform follow-up assessments. They will arrange assessments when it is most convenient for the parents, including nights and weekends, by phone and in-person. RDA will work closely with collaborators in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Data duties \xe2\x80\x93 RDA will enter assessment data into the study database (e.g. RedCap). RDA will assist with data cleaning and data management. RDA will implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects. RDA may assist the PIs with data analysis, interpreting data and writing scholarly reports as needed.
• Medical chart review duties \xe2\x80\x93 RDA will complete medical chart review at assessment time points to collect applicable medical information. This includes using the medical record system at Bellevue Hospital and requesting medical charts from other institutions where families may have transferred. RDA will enter all medical chart review data into study databases.
• IRB duties \xe2\x80\x93 RDA will assist the project coordinator with the preparation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) materials including amendments, updates and renewals.
• Program duties \xe2\x80\x93 RDA can help schedule appointments for study participants. RDA will assist project coordinators in other study-related needs, with additional program duties such as grant administration, program reports and presentations.
• General office duties \xe2\x80\x93 RDA will assist the project coordinator with day to day project activities including maintaining inventory and purchasing supplies.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a BA or BS. Fluency in either Spanish (both written and spoken), or Chinese (both written and spoken; Mandarin preferred) is a requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

Facility with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Ability to work and make decisions independently. Time management skills and ability to multitask. Flexible working hours, including weeknights and weekends. Comfortable working with people and in sensitive situations. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management. Ability to operate research related equipment. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Ability to work well under pressure. Experience or interest in working in a clinical setting.
