Are you friendly, dependable, and eager to learn? Our busy, growing optometry practice in Magnolia is looking for a full-time Optometric Doctor's Assistant to join our team! Experience is a plus, but not required -- we'll train the right person.

What You'll Be Doing

Greet patients and help with check-in and check-out Answer and manage a multi-line phone system Schedule appointments and keep patient records organized Verify insurance plans and coverage Assist the doctor during exams by prepping rooms, equipment, and instruments Perform preliminary eye testing and collect patient medical history Use electronic health records (EHR) for documentation Help patients choose glasses that fit their needs, lifestyle, and prescription Educate patients on their new glasses and assist with adjustments and minor repairs Teach patients how to safely insert, remove, and care for their contact lenses Assist with basic medical coding and billing Keep the office clean, organized, and stocked File paperwork and assist with other duties and special projects as needed Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA guidelines

What We're Looking For

No experience required -- we will train you!

Must be trustworthy, dependable, and able to handle responsibility with maturity and respect for your managers and colleagues

Organized, efficient, and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced office

Team player who's willing to cross-train and help where needed

Teachable and trainable with a strong work ethic Reliable and eager to learn new skills Friendly and professional communication skills (in person and on the phone) Comfortable using computers and learning new software

Current Office Hours

Tuesday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Saturday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Closed Sundays & Mondays
