Tunnell Consulting is currently working with a global biotechnology company who explores gene therapies for genetic diseases. Our client is seeking an OPEX Sr. Financial Analyst, Consultant with Lean or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt experience. The current state of the closing process has been process mapped and documented This predominately remote role as an Independent Consultant will be approximately 20 hours per week and is slated to run for 6-9 months. This opportunity requires minimal travel to client Cambridge, MA location. While in this position you will be responsible for:

• Improving the current closing process from a 5-day closing process to 3-days.
• Reducing the post-closing process activities from the rest of the month (15 days to 5 additional days)
• Ensuring Supply Chain and CMO\xe2\x80\x99s and CRO\xe2\x80\x99s supply all information needed by day -1 to conduct closing process.
• Significant change management needed to align stakeholders and hold them accountable to implement the new closing process
• Launching a new Gene Therapy product at the same time as this project
• Clearly define the closing process objectives
• Confirm gaps to desired future state
• Design Future state closing process

  • Update RACI
  • Update close check list to align with future state
  • Define automation required
  • Define stakeholder actions SC and CMO, CRO to meet new closing process

The qualified Consultant will have significant expertise in the following areas:

• Significant experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology Finance / account
• Direct experience in the Financial monthly close process
• Lean expert, or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
• BA or better Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Consulting experience internal or external
• Gene Therapy or Biotech or Vaccine company experience a plus
• Completed Projects improving the financial closing process
• ERP / Oracle experience
