The Oregon Clinical Translational Research Institute (OCTRI) at OHSU is a catalyst for scientific collaboration, translation of biomedical advances into the community, innovation and research growth in Oregon and beyond. Function/Duties of Position

The Project Coordinator position provides project management, outreach, pre-award grant, post-award grant and technical expertise for programs of the OCTRI Translational Endeavors Core including coordinating new and existing OCTRI Innovation & Awards and Workforce Development programs and university-wide and regional initiatives. The Project Coordinator\xe2\x80\x99s responsibilities include marketing OCTRI award opportunities as well as networking, communicating and building relationships with a wide variety of internal and external collaborators and facilitating strong communications across programs and projects. This role involves facilitating project set up, managing team day-to-day operations; presenting regular reporting of project progress, problems and solutions to collaborators and leadership.

The Project Coordinator drafts communications materials, develops presentations and meeting materials, and helps to coordinate the dissemination of information. This position will also be responsible for assisting with funding announcements, review panels, assembly and distribution of review materials and selection of awards/projects; assimilation and organization of speakers, mentors and content experts; and leading event planning and execution, and the creation of applications and assembly of review materials. Additionally, this position provides technical expertise and develops and conducts trainings to program staff, employees and Workplace Development Program awardees.

Required Qualifications

  • Four years of experience as an executive assistant, administrative analyst, researcher or administrative officer which included administrative duties, provision of technical assistance, or operations review. Two of the required years must have included administration or oversight of an on-going project or program;
  • A Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration or a closely related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience.
  • Experience with small business, entrepreneurship, or start ups.
  • Experience with marketing and outreach.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework in project management
  • Experience developing and leading trainings
  • Event planning/coordination experience of development and implementation
  • Strong business communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, customer service skills; able to interact and communicate effectively and positively with research scientists, and a wide range of stakholders internal and external to OHSU
  • Ability to think analytically and devise creative solutions to problems
  • Ability to exercise discretion when dealing with issues of a sensitive nature and to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as ability to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize, set obtainable goals; be self-directed, identify support needs and apply problem solving skills with initiative and motivation; work efficiently under pressure of multiple deadlines
  • Experience with REDCap
