Job Summary/Purpose
Performs on-line NDE and assists Engineering program owners and planning for on-line and outage NDE. Interface with NDE Level IIIs for prioritizing and performing NDE fieldwork. Interface with site managers and/or implementing organizations requiring NDE to determine the scope of NDE required. Supports Work Planners by providing technical details for the planning and assembly of the necessary work packages to perform the required NDE. Support NDE scheduling by providing input to site Work Control organization. Status NDE during on-line and outage. Identifies potential NDE problems in advance and resolves support issues.


Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Support site by performing on-line and Outage NDE and maintaining the NDE/ISI database.
  • Status on-line and outage NDE activities in Plant Scheduling Programs.
  • Support vendor in the field as required resolving any questions or concerns performing an examination.
  • Resolve questions regarding support requirements (scaffold, insulation, preps, etc.).
  • Support Work Planners (On-line and Outage) by providing technical details for the planning and assembly of NDE packages.
  • Provide technical oversight of NDE contractors.
  • Interface with RP to ensure the estimated dose is properly allocated and to ensure the dose goals are met during implementation of inspection activities.



Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
High School graduate diploma or equivalent (GED).


Minimum experience required of the position
  • NDE Level II Specialist II: A minimum of 2-years of experience in NDE
  • NDE Level II Specialist III: A minimum 3 years of experience in NDE
  • NDE Level II Specialist IV: Greater than 5 years of experience in NDE



Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Must have the skills and ability to meet the qualification requirements set forth in the applicable codes and standards and possess or be able to obtain Level II certifications (if achieved, specify Level of qualification for qualified NDE methods including any current PDI qualifications) in accordance with applicable Entergy procedures. Must have near distance visual acuity, corrected or uncorrected, of Snellen fraction 20/25 or better in at least one eye and the ability to differentiate contrast between colors used in the NDE methods. Must be able to perform inspections, examinations, and tests in accordance with fleet procedures and work packages.
Have the knowledge and skills to maintain the ISI/NDE database and nuclear plant scheduling programs. Candidate should have knowledge of other NDE methods (ET, RT, and UT). Have the knowledge and skills necessary to monitor the outage schedule and make any necessary changes/updates as work progresses. Be able to support on-line and outage NDE planning by providing technical details for NDE implementation and ensuring the schedule reflects available NDE resources.


Must have the ability to resolve field implementation issues to maintain schedule adherence. Must have the ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed to support plant activities. Must be able to support refuel outages at other Entergy locations as shared resource support.
