Common House is a modern social club designed to foster community through shared experiences, food and beverage, culture, and connection. With locations in Richmond, Charlottesville, Chattanooga, and New Orleans, each House serves as a gathering place for members to work, dine, and engage with curated programming.


The Night Auditor ensures smooth and secure overnight operations at Common House by supporting accounting processes, completing daily administrative tasks, and maintaining accurate member, event, and operational information. This role provides essential communication and documentation that allows all departments--Accounting, Membership, Concierge, Food & Beverage, and Events--to start each day prepared and up to date.


The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple tasks independently during overnight hours.


Key Responsibilities




Operations Support


Manage late hotel check-ins and early check-outs, ensuring guests receive clear communication and a smooth arrival or departure experience. Respond to overnight guest needs, phone calls, and any operational inquiries that arise during the shift. Complete sidework and operational support tasks for the House, including folding linens and restocking essential items. Brew morning coffee, restock coffee stations, and ensure beverages and guest amenities are prepared for the opening teams. Conduct walkthroughs to ensure all areas of the House are clean, organized, secured, and ready to open the following day.

Accounting & Administrative Support


Scan, upload, and organize invoices, receipts, and incoming mail. Assist with invoice uploads, reconciliations, and other basic accounting tasks as assigned. Ensure all financial paperwork is documented and distributed to the Accounting Team in a timely manner. Review and update member information across platforms (e.g., SevenRooms, Square) to ensure accuracy of contact details, tags, and status changes. Enter and maintain event-related information and support accurate tracking in systems. Prepare and distribute updated BEOs and next-day event information when needed.

Event & Programming Support


Create and print essential overnight materials such as event signage, menus, space closure notices, and welcome materials. Prepare assets and supplies needed for next-day programming and concierge operations (paper keys, packets, event reports, etc.). Schedule or send outgoing communications for the following morning, including confirmations, payment notifications, and event status updates. Support cross-department coordination by ensuring all event and programming updates are accurate, organized, and accessible.

Qualifications




Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Familiarity with Cloudbeds, SevenRooms, Square, TripleSeat, and Splash preferred. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities overnight. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Prior hospitality, accounting, or administrative experience preferred.

Work Environment




Overnight shifts required. Work involves both administrative office tasks and occasional movement throughout the House. May assist with light setup, restocking, or organization tasks as part of overnight operations.
