HPC International, Inc. (HPC) has an opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with 4-6 years of professional experience in vendor negotiation, vendor relationship management, strategic sourcing, and supply chain operations to work in a fast-paced environment where we measure success by achieving goals and working together as a team. This position will be responsible for negotiating with vendors and creating strategic sourcing opportunities on behalf of the clients we serve, utilizing their experience and expertise in vendor negotiation, sourcing strategies, data analysis, and vendor relationship management within HPC\xe2\x80\x99s EducationConcierge and Booksource divisions. The position will report directly to the Operations Manager of EducationConcierge & Booksource.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS:

  • This position will be responsible for negotiating with vendors and creating strategic sourcing opportunities on behalf of the clients we serve. This position will support HPC\xe2\x80\x99s team members and clients within the EducationConcierge and Booksource divisions with vendor negotiation, sourcing strategies, data analysis, and vendor relationship management \xe2\x80\x93 all in an effort to help drive savings for our clients.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement skills with outstanding customer relationships, interpersonal and communication skills with the established ability to effectively communicate across diverse audiences and influence cross functionally.
  • Lead and execute sourcing projects including strategy development, negotiation, award recommendations, business case presentations, risk analysis, and contract execution.
  • Develop contracting strategies that will deliver unique value to support hospitals, health systems, supply networks, academic medical centers as well as clients in non-health care markets to include: negotiating contract terms and conditions for contract renewals, amendments, addenda, and tier pricing; developing and managing portfolio budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining supplier relationships.
  • Evaluating AP spend data, purchasing history and credit card history spend reports based on specific categories to identify spend optimization opportunities, and working with HPC team members and account managers to implement savings strategies to capitalize on those opportunities for our clients.
  • Individual has the ability to independently think through problems and must be proficient in mitigating business/contractual risk, identifying cost savings opportunities, adept at identifying new areas for contracting, and be able to devise appropriate solutions in high pressure situations.
  • Assist HPC Sales Team with analyzing spend data and purchase history reports in order to support them with creating sales proposals for prospective new clients.
  • This job will analyze and assess existing HPC and client business processes, collected data, and metrics and make recommendations to improve the data collection, analysis, and distribution of operational data to provide visibility of both operational and business process performance. In addition, this position will develop category-sourcing strategies, and lead cross-functional teams to execute the sourcing and supplier management strategy to minimize cost and leverage purchasing volume.
  • 4-6 years of professional experience in vendor negotiation, vendor relationship management, strategic sourcing, and supply chain operations
  • Individual is recognized as an expert negotiator with established customer trust and broad expertise in principles of negotiation, and has demonstrated thorough understanding of contract terms and conditions.
  • Constantly look for new suppliers, alternatives, substitutes, etc., (sourcing), in order to get the greatest value for our clients and drive opportunities for optimal cost savings through analysis of current spend and external category analysis and benchmarking. Where applicable, formalize the vendor relationship and purchase terms and conditions through contracting.
  • Constantly monitor the negotiations carried out, to ensure that the agreed conditions are met during the term of the agreement or contract.
  • Effectively communicate the mission of Strategic Sourcing and educate internal stakeholders: must be able to understand and interpret the difference between what stakeholder asks for, what they actually need, and what contracts/buying arrangement may already exist to serve those needs.
EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
  • In-depth understanding of the functions and procedures of hospital supply chain, IDNs, GPOs, and the academic and healthcare industries.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically
  • Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint presentation, and data analytical skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent planning and highly effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
