Job Specifications The Natural Gas System Scheduler provides transactional analysis and scheduling, working with the Manager/Supervisor of Transportation Services to optimize and accurately provide activities on pipelines in support of the organization. Understands the basic movement of natural gas, knowledge of electronic bulletin boards, and internal tracking systems, and is capable of tracking transactions from inception to month end. SALARY RANGE: Determined by the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
  • Level I: $57, 100 - $85,800 / Grade 11
  • Level II: $67,650 - $101,450 / Grade 13
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Manager/Supervisor Transportation Services LOCATION: Denver, Colorado
  • Relocation financial assistance is available, amount may vary based on individual circumstances.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs routine and non-routine natural gas scheduling, & gas allocation duties under general supervision, on all Company natural gas pipelines.
  • Monitors nominated vs. flowing volumes to address variances on all Black Hills pipelines.
  • Resolves volume discrepancies.
  • Tracks Shipper compliance with all terms of Company tariffs.
  • Gains a thorough understanding of the operational and commercial aspects of the Tariffs governing Company owned natural gas pipelines.
  • Gains a working knowledge of pipeline operations (including, but not limited to, constraints, interconnects, and balancing rules.
  • Manages processes with users of electronic transportation management system(s) known as Quorum Pipeline Transaction Management system ("QPTM").
  • Participate in weekend and evening on-call coverage as needed.
  • Performs end of month closing tasks including actualization of pipes/trades. Interacts closely with internal accounting and third parties to help resolve any discrepancies that arise in monthly settlement.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and management
  • Maintains a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
  • May be required to respond to company business during non-working hours, including weekends and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS: Level I:
  • Minimum of (1) one year of experience in the natural gas industry or coordinating/scheduling materials movement required.
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Level II:
  • Minimum of (3) three years of experience in the natural gas industry or coordinating/scheduling materials movement required.
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively.
  • Deals with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
