Basic Function: The National Account Manager is responsible for accomplishing the organization\xe2\x80\x99s mission by establishing, maintaining, and growing business relationships that allow our customers to grow their businesses. This individual must be courteous, professional, and results-oriented to consistently increased awareness, image & the reputation of Great Northern Equipment and its associated brands. The result should be pure revenue growth, improved profitability and return on assets.

Essential Functions:
  • Identifies, analyzes, and prioritizes target sales opportunities for the related market segments.
  • Develops and executes strategies to maintain and grow key accounts.
  • Identify products/sales opportunities needed to meet the industry needs.
  • Participates with Supervisor in:
  • Establishing meaningful goals and policy guidelines pertaining to sales.
  • Developing effective sales plans and programs to achieve established goals and objectives.
  • Developing effective plans for sales tracking and inventory control.
  • Keeps customers informed of new products, industry news, GNE specials and other pertinent information.
  • Participates with related departments, as appropriate, in establishing meaningful goals and policy guidelines concerning sales operations.
  • Takes appropriate steps, based on GNE\xe2\x80\x99s current guidelines and procedures, to properly set up customers by completing applications, assuring that credit procedures are carried out and customers receive appropriate sales materials/training aids.
  • Identifies customer needs and provides knowledgeable assistance to help customers select the correct product to serve their needs.
  • Assists all customers and potential customers in a professional, courteous, reliable, attentive, honest and responsive manner.
  • Internal Process Support:
  • Assist with sales program development, special promotions, and financing options.
  • Completes reports, call logs and inventory tracking.
  • Supports internal staff with bad debt accounts, reviews and understands customer history \xe2\x80\x93 takes corrective action when necessary.
  • Participates in all events deemed necessary by the Company (e.g., physical inventories, sales meetings, trade shows, special sales, etc.).
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
  • Attends training as directed by GNE.
Secondary Functions:
  • Directs customer/prospect to other staff as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:

Required
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent, preferably in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of strategic sales experience, coupled with a proven mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of outdoor power equipment and/or distributorship selling.
  • Willingness and ability to cold call clients/businesses to develop sales leads, callback schedule and customer information file.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact and influence all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrates skills in planning, prioritizing, problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Proficiency with computers (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint or equivalent).
  • Maintains a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and excellent driving record.
Preferred
  • Sales, channel, or product management.
  • Business to Business sales experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with 2 step distribution.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Travel: Regular travel on a national basis for training and/or to trade shows and customer locations is required.
