Job Summary





The Mortgage Loan Originator Apprentice will begin by being responsible for accurate and efficient compiling and processing of mortgages, lines of credit and contract safekeeping agreements for all branches. As the apprentice develops their skills, he/she is responsible for soliciting, negotiating, originating and coordinating the closing of mortgage loans in compliance with the Bank's lending policies and procedures. Develops and maintains business relationships; promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and represents the Bank as a member of community organizations. As apprentice advances in knowledge and skills, the position may develop into a Mortgage Loan Originator.

Entry Requirements





1. Associates degree in Business preferred (or equivalent in banking experience), high school diploma or equivalent required.



2. Working knowledge of federal regulations.



3. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.



4. Ability to accept continuous compliance regulation training.




Physical Requirements





1. Ability to type and operate computer and multi-line telephone.



2. Walking, filing, interacting with customers and other employees.



3. Working in a fast paced environment.

Job Summary





The Mortgage Loan Originator Apprentice will begin by being responsible for accurate and efficient compiling and processing of mortgages, lines of credit and contract safekeeping agreements for all branches. As the apprentice develops their skills, he/she is responsible for soliciting, negotiating, originating and coordinating the closing of mortgage loans in compliance with the Bank's lending policies and procedures. Develops and maintains business relationships; promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and represents the Bank as a member of community organizations. As apprentice advances in knowledge and skills, the position may develop into a Mortgage Loan Originator.




Initial Key Job Duties





1. Serve as notary.



2. Input and send all early disclosures for all real estate applications.



3. Responsible for ordering appraisal, title insurance, pay-offs and Homeowner's Insurance.



4. Request written and verbal verifications. i.e.: employment, deposit, and rent.



5. Clear secondary market and portfolio loan conditions.



6. Responsible for ensuring all loan documentation is accurate, complete and compliant from the loan officer.



7. Provide administrative support for loan officers.



8. Provide quotes and process payoffs.



9. Proofread real estate loans in core system for accuracy.



10. Comply with Bank Secrecy Act.



11. Serves as back up to the Commercial Loan Assistant as needed.




Developmental Job Duties





1. Evaluate loan requests, analyze financial data, and determine qualification of collateral and customer credit history.



2. Complete mortgage applications for submission to loan processing, underwriting departments, or investor.



3. Counsel customers and handle any customer problems that may arise.



4. Maintain contact with loan customer, communicating process of loan and obtain any required documentation.



5. Cross-sell bank products.



6. Monitor personal sales goal progress.



7. Continue to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act.

1. Knowledgeable of secondary loans, including purchase/refinance, (conventional, FHA, VA, USDA) and construction loans.



2. Cross-sell other bank products while bringing on new customers.



3. Required to develop mortgage lending opportunities by being involved in the community, allowing the opportunity to promote all mortgage products and home ownership.



4. Participate in organizations within the community to promote a favorable image of the Bank.
