We are searching for a Medical Technician/Medical Lab Technician to, under the director of the Director or Designee, perform diversified duties including efficient performance of technical procedures in one or more units of the laboratory in order to produce quality and timely patient analysis to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease and to contribute to the solvency, efficiency and growth of the hospital by providing quality customer services. As assigned, assume charge responsibility of designated laboratory section.

**$4,000 new hire sign-on bonus for this position. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)**

• Hours: 32hrs
• Shift: Evening shift with weekend and holiday rotation; 2:30 - 11pm, start times may vary
• Location: St. Luke\xe2\x80\x99s Hospital \xe2\x80\x93 New Bedford, MA

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Associates Degree or at least 60 semester hours including a minimum of 6 semester hours in Biology, 6 semester hours in Chemistry and 3 years of Clinical Laboratory experience in the last 5 years under the supervision of a Medical Technologist.
• Certification as an MLT from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required within one year of date of hire.
• Experience in Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology preferred.

Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus and provide required vaccination documentation unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
