We are seeking a highly organized and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role involves scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and supporting clinical staff with various administrative duties. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred to ensure smooth clinic operations and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally at the front desk, ensuring a positive patient experience
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using EMR system
Collect payments accurately in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including intake procedures and documentation review
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records while ensuring confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Handle phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to address patient inquiries and direct calls appropriately
Support clinic operations by managing filing systems, data entry, and office management tasks using Microsoft Office or similar software
Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding care plans and follow-up appointments
Ensure a clean and organized front desk area to promote a professional environment
Skills
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems
Strong knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and effective phone etiquette
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards for patient privacy and data security
Strong organizational skills for managing medical records, documentation review, and office administration
Competent in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
Previous clinic or medical office experience preferred; dental office experience is advantageous
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clinical staff
