Lockheed Martin seeks a Mechanical Design Integration Systems Engineer to join the Remote Sensing team in Sunnyvale California and fast track their career to success!

In this role, you will work closely with the Structures, Mechanisms, and Thermal Products teams as a Space Vehicle Mechanical Design Integration Engineer.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing complex, mechanical interfaces for the payload subsystems and components
  • Lead and facilitate mechanical design trade studies and hardware certifications
  • Help define space vehicle mechanical architecture
  • Develop interface control documentation, subassembly engineering and payload system-level engineering using DOORS, CREO and other CAD tools
  • Drive the design and development of hardware within cost and schedule constraints
  • Demonstrate an outstanding work ethic and knowledge across a broad range of topics in the mechanical engineering domain
  • Possess good process focus and ability to practically apply standard processes to real-world applications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals such as structures, mechanisms, materials, and analysis
  • Mechanical design or manufacturing experience that includes the use of interpretation of engineering design drawings
  • Familiarity with engineering CAD tools (Creo or AutoCAD, etc.) and model-based product definition.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and Systems Integration functions including one or more of the following:
a.) System trade studies and/or System modeling
b.) Requirements and Interface Control Document (ICD) development
c.) System Integration, Test and/or Verification
d.) Design reviews
  • Final Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
Desired skills
  • Experience in Software or Electrical engineering, or Systems Test
  • Proficient with fundamental principles as applied to complex systems
  • Experience and familiarity of ground support equipment design and hardware delivery requirements
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

Ability to work remotely

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
