Job Summary:

This position is a unique opportunity to be a member of a fast paced, highly skilled, collaborative Design/Mechanical Engineering team. This position actively participates in the design, CAD drafting, along with the development of files required to prototype and manufacture all applicable Parabit products.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create custom mechanical CAD components
  • Update existing mechanical CAD drawings
  • Create components for our 3-D modeling design tool library, referencing manufacturer s specification using Solidworks
  • Use logic, mathematics, reasoning, experimentation, analysis tools, physics, calculus, and written communication skills to analyze and solve complex mechanical designs
  • Remain current on leading-edge CAD technology, new materials, manufacturing processes and their potential application to our manufacturing facility
  • Maintain file creation and versioning storage specifications
  • Document all daily actions by completing, maintaining, and submitting time-logs by project
  • Research best materials and design approaches for the development of parts/assemblies
  • Develop part/product renderings
  • Use company standard K factors while creating accurate solid models
  • Create CNC files
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Five (5) plus years experience creating CAD drawing of complex assemblies for sheet metal fabrication
  • Capable of performing with a sense of urgency and occasionally changing to a project with increased priority
  • Fundamental knowledge of SOLIDWORKS 2010 and up and OnShape
  • Ability to hand sketch
  • Experience with 3-D printing
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, work in a collaborative group setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related Engineering, Design, and programming software
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Five (5) plus years of related job experience
