Job Description


The Marketing Manager is responsible for providing strategic marketing support for critical practice areas within Cerity Partners, working directly with practice and/or market leaders to develop and implement marketing strategies and plans that directly support the achievement of the financial objectives of those areas. These may include Executive Financial Counseling, Workplace Solutions, Retirement Planning, Custodial Referral, Investments and Practice Management businesses. The incumbent will support and promote the adoption of the Cerity Partners Marketing Way, which emphasizes personalization at scale for marketing investments. In addition, specific emphasis is on targeting and generating new prospective clients within the existing and prospective groups through integrated marketing strategies, leveraging engaging content and rigorous testing. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of the marketing function, digital advertising and promotion, account based marketing and other lead generation strategies as well as an understanding of the fundamentals behind Cerity Partners business model and an affinity for leveraging data analytics to build marketing strategies that accretively support the growth of the company.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the practice leadership and teams to define business objectives and build marketing plans, programs, campaigns, support materials and other marketing elements that support well-defined marketing objectives across different channels to realize specific and measurable business objectives, while maintaining adherence to Cerity Partners\xe2\x80\x99 brand standards.
  • Leverage Cerity Partners existing database to develop campaigns that target existing prospects, generate new prospects, and leads and ultimately increase the number of clients across the practice areas.
  • Act as a liaison for the practice areas with the larger marketing organization, identifying specific research initiatives, marketing tools and technology that will increase the understanding of the market and reach prospects more effectively. Gathering and analyzing market intelligence including primary, secondary, or syndicated research will be a key component of the position.
  • Work closely with the practice area leadership and the head of Cerity Partners Marketing Way to develop annual marketing plans, budgets and KPIs to support the group\xe2\x80\x99s annual achievement of goals
  • Support the evolution of Cerity Partners\xe2\x80\x99 corporate assets (website, social media platforms, etc.) to effectively support the practice areas presence, in synch with a defined client journey, persona development and other attributes to ensure proper representation.
  • Participate in the development of a robust content strategy to support the practice area\xe2\x80\x99s defined business objectives across owned and earned channels.
  • Create and manage a disciplined, scientific culture of test and learn marketing that ensures that every initiative either drives business directly or increases our understanding of market dynamics, measuring and reporting on the performance of marketing campaigns against objectives
  • Collaborate with the broader Cerity Partners Marketing team to ensure efficiency, cooperation, and alignment with other marketing initiatives.
  • Work in partnership with outside creative agencies as well as with internal partners to develop high impact content, collateral and other go to market materials
  • Act as an ambassador for the marketing team, advocating for the adoption of marketing disciplines across the firm.

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism, or other relevant fields.
  • 5-10 years marketing experience, with a minimum of 2 years working within the investments, wealth management and/or RIA industry, with specific experience in digital channels, multichannel marketing, lead generation or marketing management.
  • A solid understanding of marketing strategy.
  • Experience with design, copy and digital marketing practices.
  • Brilliant interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creative and strategic thinker.
  • Proven ability to motivate and create positive team environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with impeccable eye for detail.
  • Ability and desire to learn quickly and work independently with minimal direction
