Manufacturing Support Manager

Siemens Energy is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking leader for the Manufacturing Support group to maintain the momentum propelling the Houston Telge Rd facility further into the world class realm of turbomachinery, rotating and packaged equipment for its diverse customer base requiring both traditional turbocompression solutions as well as those with boundary-pushing decarbonization and energy transformation emphasis.

How You\'ll Make an Impact

  • Support full scope of manufacturing operations such as assembly, testing, packaging, logistics and warehousing to ensure safe, timely and cost-effective completion of equipment built.
  • Innovate and set new standards for a truly world class rotating turbomachinery facility by identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities as wells as step change capital projects and by systematically targeting waste in all areas of the site\'s operations.
  • Plan, budget, assign and constantly monitor department resources and policies to adapt to the varying demands of the Manufacturing operations at the facility.
  • Take ownership of the overall production and test schedules as well as material tracking and expediting to support the overall success and on time delivery of executed projects.
  • Motivate, assess, develop and train full time staff to become experts and progress in their careers.
  • Identify, select and train additional external staff as needed to pre-empt and adapt to workload fluctuations.
  • The selected candidate will also become an active participant and gain visibility in the global Turbomachinery Manufacturing community, to share best practices and stay appraised of latest product and technology developments.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or other equivalent and related Engineering field
  • advanced relevant Management or Supervision role in Turbomachinery assembly or manufacturing may be substituted for Degree Qualifications.
  • 8+ years relevant experience in Rotating Equipment Manufacturing though a combination of at least two roles in Engineering, Manufacturing, Testing, Project Management or Procurement operations.
  • 4+ years management experience of direct-reporting functional team or project-based multi-disciplinary engineering team.
  • Proven expertise and at least 5 years of applied experience in advanced Lean Manufacturing concepts with demonstrable track record of improvement project implementation and complex problem resolution skills in a multi-disciplinary environment where sound judgement and coordinated technical approach was necessary.
  • Preference given to applicants with expert knowledge of Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering and Production support functions related to Siemens Energy application products: Gas Turbines, Turbo-Compressors and respective Packages.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers
