Job Description


As the Manufacturing Data Analyst, Optima Solutions you are an integral member of the Digital Development team that extracts meaningful insights out of the manufacturing and logistics data collected with our digital products, and then assembles professional reports to the business and our field teams. You will create meaningful reports and data models that include of B2B customer information from our products which in turn helps our sales, onsite reps, and product development teams with our efforts to provide value and quality for our Automotive OEM business unit.

The Optima Solutions Team provides expert onsite support to our Automotive OEM business partners and Automotive Tier 1 suppliers. We are the experts in onsite advanced application solutions for paints & coatings to the Automotive Manufacturing Market. As a Data Analyst, you will report to the Optima Solutions Application & Advanced Process Manager; you will support the analytical needs of the digital portfolio and consult on improvement and development needs and best practices. Responsibilities

  • Gather and organize data from multiple sources in preparation for meaningful reporting, ensure data integrity and accuracy, and run data cleaning.
  • Apply statistical methods, data mining techniques, and analytical tools to analyze large datasets and identify patterns and insights.
  • Create clear and meaningful visualizations, such as charts, graphs, and dashboards, to communicate data analysis results to partners.
  • Generate reports, summaries, and recommendations based on data analysis findings, and translate technical insights into relevant business strategies.
  • Develop statistical models, predictive models, or forecasting models to support business decision-making and planning.
  • Complete quality checks, resolve quality issues, data inconsistencies, or errors, and validate data against predefined criteria.
  • Assist team members, data engineers, and data scientists to understand project requirements, provide data-driven insights, and support data-related programs.
  • Follow and learn about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in data analysis, identifying opportunities to improve data collection, analysis processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Data Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related; OR High School diploma and Equivalent combination of education, relevant experience, training, certification, and skills.
  • 3+ years of experience as a data analyst or database manager in manufacturing/logistics with equivalent responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Manufacturing and/or Logistics terminology
  • General Automotive Industry knowledge is highly desirable
  • Must be proficient with data analysis using tools such as SQL, Excel (can perform complex functions), Python, R, or other statistical software packages.
  • Proficient with visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Matplotlib or similar is highly desirable
  • Occasional travel; additional travel up to 25% for anyone not located in the greater Detroit metro.
This position may be available as a Remote role for qualified individuals not located in the Detroit metro area. Relocation is not available.
