Essential Duties






  • Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures.



  • Identify, plan, design, and implement processes and procedures that optimize the use of resources, improve services, and reduce costs



  • Promptly report and investigates all accidents, incidents, and injuries in accordance with company policy and DOT regulations



  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policy, and all applicable local, state, and federal laws



  • Create efficiencies between terminals by maximizing equipment and driver utilization



  • Work closely with Human Resources and Regulatory Compliance to maintain driver records and training



  • Work with R& M to ensure equipment is properly maintained and available for use



  • Work with Terminal Managers on a daily basis planning for staffing, freight and equipment movement, etc.



  • Work with Account Executives as necessary



  • Work with Human Resources on recruitment and retention of employees.



  • Oversee timekeeping ensuring records are accurate and submitted timely



  • Oversee and manage the professional development and productivity of staff members, ensure proper goals, training and project requirements are met



  • Perform other duties as required


Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Certifications



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required



  • Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred



  • Five to seven years\xe2\x80\x99 dispatching, or progressively responsible experience in transportation industry including at least two years of supervisory experience



  • Experience with transportation industry-specific software



  • Valid Driver License, Class A CDL preferred

  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel



  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, weights, measures and hours of service requirements

Working Environment







This job routinely operates in an office environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other office related devices. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment. While performing this job, there may be occasional exposure to outdoor conditions, as well as exposure to hazardous chemicals, materials an airborne pathogens.
