Position overview Within the PR team, the Manager, Corporate Communications, leads all aspects of PR work related to our corporate strategy at Porsche Cars North America. It\xe2\x80\x99s an exciting and fast paced role and one that allows the successful applicant to contribute not only to corporate topics but product and lifestyle projects when the need arises. More detail:
  • Role involves a high degree of creativity and writing ability \xe2\x80\x93 generating fully developed PR programs as well as drafting tightly written, accurate, informative and entertaining press releases and briefing documents \xe2\x80\x93 both proactive and reactive \xe2\x80\x93 as well as preparing and shadowing executive interviews. Extensive experience in PR is critical to the role.
  • Capable of working directly with \xe2\x80\x93 and providing guidance to \xe2\x80\x93 CEO level colleagues, as well as counterparts based in Germany
  • A self-starter, able to generate ideas but also identify issues before they happen \xe2\x80\x93 crisis experience and training are vital. Existing knowledge of \xe2\x80\x93 and relationships with \xe2\x80\x93 the main US corporate media titles is an advantage.
  • A wide ranging, fun and rewarding role that forms part of the PR leadership team (alongside the managers of Lifestyle and Product PR) at Porsche Cars North America, shaping how we approach external communications

Roles & responsibilities
  • Planning and enacting the Corporate Communications PR Plan for PCNA
  • Leading a team (two contractors and one full-time employee) to seek out, schedule and deliver regular ideas for press activity (releases, social posts, programs) to amplify the work of Porsche AG and Porsche Cars North America and affiliated companies when required (e.g. Porsche Digital, Porsche Financial Services)
  • Providing support, guidance and leadership to direct reports, as well as the wider team
  • Work with PR colleagues at Porsche AG \xe2\x80\x93 representing the interests of PCNA \xe2\x80\x93 on policy and news announcements to ensure they are relevant to our market
  • Take a leading role (along with the VP, PR) in crisis communications planning and responses
  • Takes the lead on all aspects of PCNA\xe2\x80\x99s CSR-related PR programs \xe2\x80\x93 from evaluating opportunities to managing engagement with third parties

Required experience includes: This is a senior PR role requiring significant relevant experience in Press and Public Relations.
  • At least five years\' experience in communications and a 360\xc2\xb0 communications expertise (experience in international corporate communications is an advantage)
  • Experience in working with traditional and social media in automotive or tech industries
  • Experience in executive visibility in external and internal communications
  • Experience in crisis communications
  • Ability to manage complex topics as well as multiple stakeholder at one time
  • Strong execution and coordination skills
  • Professional-level proficiency in English; spoken and written German skills are also advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal skills \xe2\x80\x93 flexible, energetic, collaborative, detail-oriented, highly motivated
  • Strong, hands-on team player who enjoys working in a multi-cultural environment;
  • Self-starter and very strong multi-tasker. Highly efficient and process-driven. Enjoys working in a lean organization with flat hierarchies.
  • Is ethical in all dealings. Understands the importance of integrity and compliance.
  • Willingness to travel (10%) domestically and internationally and work evenings and weekends;

Required qualifications include:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or comparable. A Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent is preferred.

  • Walking, bending, sitting, typing at a keyboard, driving and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Assist in setting up events.
