Job Description

Walnut Grove MHA is seeking a reliable, skilled, and community-minded Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep, safety, and functionality of our housing community. This is not a high-paced environment--our focus is on steady, thoughtful service that prioritizes quality, safety, and respectful resident interactions. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work with professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and emergency maintenance across homes, common areas, and infrastructure (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping) Conduct seasonal tasks including gutter cleanouts, minimal snow removal, and exterior painting Respond to resident service requests with empathy, efficiency, and clear communication Assist and coordinate with contractors as needed Maintain accurate records of work orders, materials used, and time spent Support safety and hazard mitigation Monitor inventory and report supply needs to the Property Manager Uphold community policies and contribute to a respectful, family-oriented atmosphere Collaborate with management to prioritize tasks and adapt to shifting operational needs

Qualifications

Some experience in general maintenance, construction, or related trades Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently and safely Strong communication and interpersonal skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Physical ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in varied weather conditions Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and community values
