Job Summary:




The Maintenance Supervisor will utilize his or her maintenance/repair skills along with mechanical abilities to safely maximize plant availability and provide upkeep of the property buildings, grounds and utilities.

Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):



Manage all aspects of routine maintenance in regard to on-going and emergency repairs along with preventive maintenance. Oversee daily work assignments for staff and outside contracts as performing work under Maintenance. Schedule work times for weekend projects with coordination of department operations. Repair, installation and maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings, grounds and utilities with no supervision. Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and P&ID diagrams and manuals in order to effectively carry out job assignments. Maintain and calibrate various instrumentation installed in the facility, such as automated valves and metering devices. Ability to troubleshoot, repair/replace and install new instrumentation devices. Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and install new electrical piping and equipment heat trace systems. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of plant PLC systems. Support operations technicians on task training in preventative maintenance and minor repairs Works with other maintenance personnel to provide required support. Involve in department hiring and discipline when necessary. Able to perform preventative maintenance and repairs of facility fleet vehicles. Order supplies as necessary within approved company guidelines. Approve invoices within company guidelines. Manage staff time off requests. Involve with plant capital projects for planning and implementation. Adhere to all applicable company safety rules, procedures and policies.

Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities):




To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


Required:

Seven+ years mechanical/electrical maintenance experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry (Industrial trade school attendance may be considered work experience). High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Requires lifting and handling of heavy objects; must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. Ability to climb ladders and storage tank stairs (approx. 50' in height) for maintenance, inspection, and gauging operations. Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Able to wear PPE (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, respirator and safety work boots) as required. Available for shifts and occasional on-call rotation (nights and/or weekends) to respond to plant "call-outs" as required. Understanding of State and Federal OSHA and EPA industry standards. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word). Good time management skills (manage overtime).


Skills & Ability

Instrumentation repair, installation and maintenance of digital and/or analog equipment. Experience supervising electrical/mechanical work. Experience estimating/pricing/bidding electrical work. Experience purchasing materials for mechanical/electrical work. Welding (Stick; structural, pipe). Pipefitting (welded, threaded, glued/plastic).


Safety Expectations

Promote a culture of safety both in the office and in the plant. Participate in Safety and Environmental Audits and area inspections.

Physical Demands and Work Environment



Requires lifting and handling of heavy objects; must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, crouch, reach, and have visual acuity. Ability to climb ladders and storage tank stairs (approx. 50' in height) for maintenance, inspection, and gauging operations. Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Able to run & help maintain process equipment. Able to wear PPE (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, respirator and safety work boots) as required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work



Monday - Friday (full-time). Possible overtime.
