Job Description

Primary Duties




Uphold and enforce the Lesaffre EH&S standards and policies. Attend the morning start-up meeting with RSY maintenance to review the current day's maintenance activities. Work directly with operations department ensuring maintenance process needs are met with focus to improve OEE. Be cognitive of maintenance spending in relations to operational need with the understanding of eliminating wasteful spending. Review all work request and verify the need to convert work request to work orders. Maintain the backlog list to adhere to the goals of the plant and departments. Identify all work orders that are "Ready to Schedule." Work with Maintenance Scheduler to establish the weekly maintenance schedule for assigned area and assist scheduler with determining priority. Ensure all maintenance predictive and preventative PMs are scheduled to meet the required frequency per asset while balancing the workload throughout the calendar year. Assist with coordinating timely responses in case of emergency calls for equipment failure. Assist with coordinating all non-emergency repairs through production supervisors. Responsible in assisting and maintaining proper levels of spare parts for all equipment. Oversee technicians to complete required task. Write PR's and receive quotes to complete the task that is completed by embedded contractors. Review all closed work orders to verify accurate information has been entered into the CMMS system. Issue all required permits to contractors to safely complete the task by following all Lesaffre required protocols. Complete annual contractor reviews and evaluate the continued use of each company for the following year. Coordinate with the maintenance department when any outside contractors are needed on day-to-day activity.

Secondary Duties




Responsible in assisting and maintaining proper levels of spare parts for all Write PR's and receive quotes to complete the task that is completed by outside contractors. Oversee maintenance KPIs for the areas assigned with the determination to meet and or exceed monthly and annual goals. Assist in developing new PMs for new and existing equipment. Perform daily rounds throughout the plant overseeing technicians to ensure they are completing their daily tasks. Report all safety incidents immediately to supervision and assist in safety incident investigations working directly with EH&S. Write work orders as needed to track all activities in the plant needing attention. Actively seek ways to reduced cost and reduce expenses. Generate permits, sign off on permits, and lock out equipment in conjunction with operations and the LOTO Coordinator. Troubleshoot problems by collecting and analyzing data. Trigger RCAs as needed. Special projects assigned by supervisor.

Work Schedule




5 days a week, Monday through Friday, and on-call throughout the week as needed. Typical starting time is 6:00AM and ending at 3:00PM. Weekend on call rotation as determined by the maintenance team In certain circumstances (Shutdowns, and start-ups) may require this person to work with flexible shifts or OT. Must be willing to work longer hours than normal if the circumstance requires it.

Supervisory Responsibilities




This position will be responsible for helping oversee the Maintenance Technicians and relaying any disciplinary concerns to the Lead Maintenance Supervisor. Responsible to provide leadership and coaching to the Maintenance Technicians along with completing their annual performance reviews. This position reports directly to the Lead Maintenance Supervisor.

Requires ability to prioritize and organize tasks and follow through to ensure completion of assignments. Communication skills and customer service skills needed in relationships with technicians, maintenance supervisors, manager, and other departments within the company.



Communications skills needed in relations with outside suppliers and contractors. Computer proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerBi. Ability to write memos and reports. Requires ability to work under minimal supervision.



Must be able to manage multi tasks. Experience in industrial maintenance preferred. Ability to handle critical decision-making responsibilities and deal with mental stress from occasionally extended worked hours outside of regular schedule.


Education and/or Experience





Apprenticeship, associate degree in industrial maintenance, (or related field) or equivalent work experience in place of degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years' experience in field preferred.


Language Skills





Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, suppliers, or contractors.


Mathematical Skills





Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability





Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
