Position Summary

Concrete Industries, In. is looking for a highly motivated individual to assist in performing all the necessary routine and required electrical maintenance on plant machinery, equipment along with physical general and building maintenance. The Electrician will perform all duties as assigned to keep the equipment, grounds and facility in good operating order in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety and environment regulations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Keep records of labor and materials.

Coordinates with management and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work order efficiently.

Plan and prioritize jobs to ensure deadlines are met and emergencies are handled appropriately.

Assures all work performed meets the regulations of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Ensure plants meets all electrical needs within Company, National Electrical Code (NEC), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

Performs a wide variety of semi-skilled/skilled electrical related activities for the purpose of ensuring that maintenance issues are resolved and projects are completed in a safe, effective and timely manner.

Researches new products, techniques, for the purpose of previewing products to provide recommendations regarding applications and purchases.

Perform high voltage switching and operate generators in support of operations.

Responsible for station lockout/tagout procedures as mandated by company policy.

Maintain current electrician\'s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.

Complete repair logs.

Maintains assigned tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of item in safe operating condition.

On-call duties as defined.

Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements and Education

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • A vocational/technical diploma preferred and 5 years construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Requires the apprentice to become and remain registered with the State and to be enrolled in an approved apprenticeship program for the on-the- job training hours that they work to count toward taking their Journeyman test.
  • Must be able to pass respiratory function test for working in confined areas.
  • Valid NE driver s license and be insurable under the company s insurance plan.
  • Completion of a recognized vocational education program in electrical or industrial electrical or industrial training or completion of a recognized Electrical Apprenticeship Program and three out of the last five years journey-level experience as an electrician in the industrial maintenance field.

Working Conditions

The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, kneel and crouch.

Will occasionally work on ladders or scaffolding at heights up to twenty (20) feet.

The employee may lift up to 50 lbs. daily as well as, lifting heavy objects in awkward and confined spaces using proper lifting and rigging techniques.

The employee is subject to exposure to fumes, dust and high levels of vibration. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Employees are required to wear protective safety gear and eye protection.

This is a year round job.

Hours may vary based on daily production requirements and emergency requirements.

Occasional weekend and holiday work will be required.

This is a tobacco free environment and campus.
