The ideal candidate is a strong operator -- someone who can respond to emergencies, assess damage, perform mitigation work, lead technicians, and communicate professionally with homeowners and insurance representatives.
Respond to emergency water damage calls and arrive on-site promptly
Professionally onboard clients and explain the mitigation process
Obtain signed work authorizations before work begins
Assessment & Mitigation Execution
Conduct thorough inspections to determine category, class, and affected materials
Perform and lead mitigation services including:
Water extraction
Equipment setup and monitoring (air movers, dehumidifiers, specialty drying)
Controlled removal of affected materials (carpet, pad, drywall, trim, etc.)
Make informed decisions regarding drying vs. selective demolition
Leadership & Job Management
Lead and supervise technicians and temporary helpers on-site
Train and mentor junior technicians in proper mitigation techniques
Ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and according to
IICRC standards (S500/S520)
Documentation & Communication
Document job progress using
Encircle and Mitigate (MICA)

Photos and videos
Moisture readings and psychrometrics
Job notes and scope details
Communicate job status and scope changes clearly to office staff and management
Maintain accurate and defensible documentation for insurance purposes
Quality & Safety
Maintain a clean, professional, and safe job site
Follow company SOPs and safety protocols
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and OSHA guidelines
Requirements
3+ years of hands-on experience in
water damage restoration
Prior experience as a Lead Technician, Crew Chief, or similar role preferred
Strong understanding of drying principles, moisture mapping, and controlled demolition
Comfortable using mobile job management apps (Encircle, Mitigate, Outlook)
Ability to lead crews and make field decisions independently
Physically capable of performing mitigation and demolition work
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Willingness to participate in rotating on-call schedule
Certifications (preferred but not required):
IICRC WRT, ASD, AMRT (or willingness to obtain)
Compensation
$25/hour base pay
After-hours / on-call premium pay
Performance-based commission:
2%-4% per job based on internal job checklist completion
