The Role

Seeking a seasoned Commvault administrator to join the IT Backup & Recovery Operations team. The team is comprised of senior individuals responsible for operating and optimizing our company\'s enterprise class data protection platforms across multiple data centers and in various cloud hyperscalers. The candidate must have a strong ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment, and will contribute to design and operational strategy, architecture, engineering, and process. The Main Responsibilities

• Support on-prem Commvault Hyperscale environments and air-gapped ransomware data protection. Commvault\'s cloud offering, Metallic, will be implemented in the short-term.
• Deploy backup polices and schedules, troubleshoot and address backup failures, and perform restores.
• Manage backup environment life cycle - design, deploy, migrate, augment, upgrade, patch, break-fix, retire, and decommission.
• Implement, maintain, support and in some cases develop key tools and processes for ingest, monitoring, notification, capacity planning, performance optimization, and operational reporting.
• Follow, support, and in some cases help develop optimal processes around data management as it relates to backups -disaster recovery, ransomware protection, application retirement, records retention, legal hold, e-discovery, etc.
• Work with multiple auditors, both internal and external, to understand requirements, collect evidence and work through remediations.
• Collaborate with internal and external groups to provide technical, operational, and innovative expertise.
• Automation and sandbox DR recovery testing of small ecosystems, consisting of primary and ancillary applications, using a variety of tools, including Commvault native automation capabilities, scripting, etc., to achieve validation and compliance objectives.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis within backup environments and implement preventative measures.
• Document the environment portfolio and create/maintain Operational procedures.
• Must be willing to obtain GSA suitability to support Federal Programs.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Bachelors degree or equivalent is required

• 6+ years of experience required with enterprise backup platforms, and 2+ years required with Commvault
• In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Class backup and recovery solutions, primarily with Commvault, including experience with install, configuration, upgrades, migrations, monitoring, notification, troubleshooting, etc.
• In-depth experience with disaster recovery strategy, planning, testing, and operations

Other Considerations:

• Experience with different types of backup clients and OSs: Windows, UNIX, Citrix, Oracle RMAN, MS SQL, MySQL, Informix, Sybase, SAP HANA, VMWare, Vertica, and NDMP.
• Familiarity with public cloud: Azure, AWS, GCP, and IBM
• Experience with ransomware response and general knowledge surrounding standard security practices within an enterprise backup environment
• Basic scripting knowledge such as Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Perl, Unix shell
• Knowledge of basic network technologies (Firewalls, VLANs, Subnets, NIC Bonding)
• Experience with Service Now, Teams, Office 365, Big Panda, Zabbix, Splunk, and PowerBI
• Participation in on-call rotation schedule supporting a 24/7 environment

• Strong skills in written and verbal communication, time management, and a demonstrated ability to establish rapport in a remote work environment

• Ability to work in a team environment and perform as a leader
• Technical documentation skills

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
