We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef/Caterer to join our growing and dynamic team that operates out of two locations. Our new kitchen is very large and open with dedicated owners who stand behind their team and help them get what they need to execute efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and hospitality, with the ability to manage catering events from start to finish. We are a woman owned business that operates on the values of strong communication, humility and kindness. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service. The Caterer will be responsible for menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring that all catering operations run smoothly.
Duties
Plan and execute catering menus tailored to client needs and preferences.
Oversee food production and ensure high standards of food quality and presentation.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support in food preparation and service.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean kitchen environment.
Coordinate with clients to understand their requirements and provide excellent customer service.
Lead the catering team during events, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
Assist in training new staff members on food handling, cooking techniques, and service standards.
Manage shift schedules for kitchen staff to ensure adequate coverage during events.
Skills
Proven experience in catering or food service management, with a focus on banquet experience preferred.
Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising staff.
Knowledge of dietary department practices and menu planning for various dietary needs.
Proficient in food production techniques, cooking methods, and culinary skills.
Experience in inventory management and control within a kitchen setting.
Familiarity with fine dining standards and hospitality best practices.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Previous experience in restaurant management or kitchen management is advantageous.
