The Supervisory Management Team is a dedicated business-aligned team whose delegated responsibility is to assist the business in managing its regulatory obligations, operational risk and supervisory requirements.

As the Online Investing Supervisory Director you will exhibit leadership and operational expertise. You must have the ability to lead, drive and advise on large scale and complex digital initiatives as requested by senior management. This role requires flexibility and comfort with ambiguity given the rapid pace of change and various constituencies involved. You will be responsible for developing, implementing and leading organizational strategies. You will support and lead digital project and program management work. You will manages and influence cross-functional stakeholders including but not limited to Compliance, Risk, Controls, Operations, Technology, etc. You will spearhead process changes as well as lead efforts to identify process improvements in the organization. You will serve as the top point of escalation for stakeholders and the broader team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for FINRA Designated Supervisors in respective region
  • Strategically partner with the Business Executives and our other Supervision teams to ensure business objectives are achieved
  • Effectively resource and lead a team of Supervisory Managers, who are responsible for key supervisory functions
  • Ensure business and firm-wide initiatives are successfully driven by Supervisory Manager team (i.e., Document Integrity, FINRA changes, etc.)
  • Develop and motivate the team by providing a compelling vision of shared goals and objectives
  • Sets high standards while empowering and holding the team accountable for meeting those standards
  • Assess performance and create development opportunities to help others grow professionally
  • Seek out ways to leverage and apply innovative ideas to enhance business results
  • Ensure day-to-day supervisory aspects of the business are functioning
  • Ensure timely and effective responses to compliance, supervision and audit examinations on a priority basis
  • Provide approval when needed to resolve any escalated supervisory issues
  • Facilitate communication & training to ensure all employees have needed knowledge of supervisory topics to mitigate risk and enhance the client experience
  • Participate on various committees and projects which convene to collaborate on strategic initiatives

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
  • 10+ years of experience in the securities investment industry including listed options and margin
  • Bachelor\'s Degree required
  • Advanced knowledge of digital securities industry rules, regulations and guidelines and significant and equivalent experience in a directly related securities industry position may substitute for bachelor\'s degree
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of people required
  • A working knowledge of the US financial regulation framework including applicable FINRA rules
  • Leadership and influencing skills to drive change
  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Excellent leadership skills in change management
  • Excellent presentation skills, effective written and verbal communication skills; must be comfortable dealing with senior management
  • Ability to work independently and make sound, risk-based and suitability decisions based on firm policy
  • Ability to analyze trends and patterns; identify and implements improvements or enhancements
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple levels of supervision
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic team environment that is consistently evolving
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of work from assignment to completion
  • Ability to meet or exceed business goals and objectives, while fostering a team atmosphere
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management
  • Deep understanding and experience of digital and online investing services
  • Provides thought leadership and identifies opportunities for process improvement
  • Responsible for resource planning, recruiting, hiring, coaching and developing employees
  • Licenses required to perform all job duties associated with the role: FINRA Series 4, 7, 66 (63/65), 9/10 (4,24,53)
