Responsibilities:
Abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization\'s values; adheres to hospital policies including confidentiality; maintains data integrity between Aperek and Cerner, including item master updates, par cart changes, and various other tasks; assists departments and clinics with setting up and maintaining par carts, minimizing instances of over-ordering and returns, and maintaining optimal ordering frequency; assists SPD departments with maximizing efficiency and effectiveness through optimizing par and safety stock levels as well as warehouse design and flow; assists with the orientation of new employees; requires minimal supervision to safely perform patient care/essential functions; utilizes proper body mechanics when moving equipment and or supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. that are necessary to perform essential functions, reports broken or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor or department head; takes ownership of the requisitioning process to include working with hospital and clinic department personnel and end-users to ensure understanding of supply chain principles and ensure they place optimal orders; design and maintains an efficient clinical distribution system; trains and provides continuing guidance using Aperek, Par Carts, and handheld scanners to Health System staff; provides reports to identify clinics and departments placing too many orders, over-ordering, under-ordering, etc.; works with clinics and departments to rectify requisitioning issues; identifies opportunities for product consolidation/standardization; maintains Aperek information so items flow into their proper Cerner item masters; maintains Par Carts in Cemer so obsolete items are removed once remaining stock is depleted; works with Cerner Supply Chain Point of Use and Surginet users to address issues; coordinates distribution of new item information including barcodes to departments; assists SPD management with process improvements; ensures all products that are eligible for exchange are removed from inventory throughout the health system during product conversions; assists departments and clinics with optimizing supply storage layout; assists SPD management with departmental operations; works with SPD personnel to ensure understanding of supply chain principles and improve efficiency and effectiveness; runs periodic inventory turnover, stock-out, dead-stock, and ad-hoc reports as needed; ensures Aperek is being utilized to its full potential; monitors with requisition and order fulfillment process efficiency and makes adjustments to maintain high level of service; assists in documenting all current processes in SPD to include Aperek and Cemer workflows; communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients, families, healthcare team and staff in person and via telephone; responds to overhead pages, telephone, digital pager, and emails in a timely manner; maintains accurate and complete records to include: current par levels and barcodes, product conversion history, and process documentation for new users; accepts and completes all duties positively and without conflict; cooperates, helps others and improves the performance of the unit; completes all mandatory unit, educational and hospital requirements; utilizes cost effective practices in performing all aspects of the job; adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standardsregular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business or a related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and three years of professional purchasing or supply chain experience. A master\xe2\x80\x99s degree may substitute for one year of the required experience.
