We are seeking an Inventory Analyst to join our corporate team. As the New Car Pricing Director, you will use proprietary inventory data to shape, price and measure a market-driven inventory for your assigned brand.

What You\'ll Do:

  • Use proprietary inventory data to shape, price and measure a market-driven inventory for each assigned store
  • Utilize market data (e.g., Urban Science Market Master data) to recommend inventory-based marketing strategies to the General Manager
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely, accurate and complete manner (including properly signing out the vehicle in DMS and tagging it in OEM portal)
  • Review pricing daily, ensuring all vehicles are priced upfront in alignment with the weekly matrix and monthly gross profit goals, accounting for all \xe2\x80\x9cDay 1\xe2\x80\x9d inventory
  • Respond quickly and accurately to all sales staff inquiries regarding inventory, dealer trading, sold/priority orders, product/pricing questions
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the inventory, using data to strategically decide on how to address gaps, imbalances, etc.
  • Shape a better inventory to give your stores an advantage over the competition
  • Align the inventory to fit the store\xe2\x80\x99s strategic inventory goals, helping the stores sell more new vehicles while, at the same time, helping to manage gross profit margins
  • Stock-in better inventory than the competition, while anticipating inventory that aligns with future customer interest
  • Audit inventory counts with an awareness of current ground stock and incoming unit counts, trim shortages, color gaps, etc.
  • Audit and manage Hold Status units
  • Maintain and monitor a pricing matrix, ensuring that all available vehicles with a real VIN and stock number are priced (including those that have not yet hit ground)
  • Review and manage aging inventory, using proven practices to minimize costs of carrying aged inventory
  • Monitor and communicate market share to help the GM track the store\xe2\x80\x99s market share pace
  • Manage vehicle orders and preferences in a proactive, precise, timely manner to optimize allocation results
  • Communicate with your district manager, gathering information to help shape better inventory decisions; provide a recap of any district manager communications to the store\xe2\x80\x99s GM
  • Seek to finish each month with an inventory that outperforms the market, driving above average return on investment
  • Analyze store\xe2\x80\x99s inventory mix and quantity then evaluate the best course of action; present the course action to the General Manager and provide timely, productive feedback on the store\xe2\x80\x99s pace while making corrections when needed to stay on course
  • Collaborate with General Managers and OEMs, using effective and impactful communications, and above average use of velocity data to shape/order/purchase/trade/tweak a better than average inventory
What You\'ll Bring:
  • Ability to communicate effectively with key partners
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding to navigate the DMS and OEM\xe2\x80\x99s order systems
  • Ability to oversee a large volume store or more complex OEM when it comes to ordering, pricing, and/or building configurations
  • Ability to do analytical work for extended periods, using a computer and software programs
  • Ability to multitask with multiple interruptions while thoroughly completing tasks within assigned deadlines in a timely, complete and accurate manner
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding to navigate the DMS and OEM\xe2\x80\x99s order systems
  • Foundational knowledge and competence in the store, GM communications, allocations, dealer trading, pricing management, and inventory management
  • Above average analytical skills
  • Good math skills
  • Competent use of keyboard and mouse
